A different kind of day
A different kind of progress
Sessions are deliberately small — 1 to 1, 1 to 2, or 1 to 3, so that every young person receives the attention, consistency, and calm they need to thrive. Placements are bespoke, shaped around the individual rather than a fixed timetable.
Based in Crewe with excellent transport links, the provision runs from 10am to 2.30pm and offers up to 16 hours of supported outdoor learning per young person each week.
Activities
Core outdoor skills
Fire making, shelter building, knife skills, and foraging — purposeful, primal activities that build focus, calm, and quiet confidence.
Growing and nurturing
Greenhouse and outdoor growing, tending crops from seed to plate — learning patience, responsibility, and the reward of seeing something flourish.
Adventure activities
Climbing, bushcraft, shooting, and potholing with experienced instructors — stretching comfort zones safely, in the right company.
Teamwork and belonging
Shared challenges — building shelters, making fires, preparing food — create genuine connection and a sense of being part of something.
Off-site visits
Regular visits beyond the base broaden horizons, build independence, and give young people new experiences to draw confidence from.
Recognised achievement
Every young person has the opportunity to work towards their Duke of Edinburgh Award and a First Aid qualification — real credentials to carry forward.
The practical detail
For schools, SENCOs, and local authority commissioners.
Every activity has a purpose beyond itself. Knife skills teach respect and self-regulation. Fire making teaches patience and persistence. Shelter building teaches trust. The outdoors is not the backdrop — it is the provision.
